‘Breaking Bad’ Season 5 – Plot, Cast, and Trailer

Bryan Cranston stars as a science teacher who breaks bad in order to earn extra money after he’s diagnosed with cancer in AMC’s Breaking Bad. Season five of the one-hour drama will premiere on July 15, 2012 and AMC’s released new details on the plot along with a short promo video.

In addition to Bryan Cranston as Walter White, the season five cast includes Anna Gunn as Skylar, Aaron Paul as Jesse Pinkman, Dean Norris as Hank Schrader, RJ Mitte as Walter Jr, Bob Odenkirk as Saul Goodman, Jonathan Banks as Mike, and Giancarlo Esposito as Gus Fring.

The Synopsis: Breaking Bad follows protagonist Walter White, a chemistry teacher who lives in New Mexico with his wife and teenage son who has cerebral palsy. White is diagnosed with Stage III cancer and given a prognosis of two years to live. With a new sense of fearlessness, and a desire to secure his family’s financial security, White chooses to enter a dangerous world of drugs and crime, where he ascends to power. The series explores how a fatal diagnosis, such as White’s, releases a typical man from the daily concerns and constraints of normal society and follows his transformation from mild family man to kingpin of the drug trade.

Season 5: At the end of season four, in one of the most talked about finales of the year, Walt White’s war with Gus Fring ended in triumphant victory. Now, his transformation from a well-meaning family man into Heisenberg, a ruthless drug kingpin, is almost complete. No longer under the thumb of a mastermind criminal, Walt now assumes the role of one himself, as he and Jesse look to build their own empire. Meanwhile, Skyler struggles with the reality of her husband’s new role and Hank works to wrap up his investigation of Gus’ business.
