One of the films that really benefited from a presentation at the 2013 San Diego Comic Con was Warner Bros Pictures’ Gravity. Sure, it has Oscar winners Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, and yes, it’s directed by acclaimed filmmaker Alfonso Cuaron so selling it to audiences shouldn’t be too difficult as the release date approaches. However, the buzz built up by the two minutes of footage shown in the video below promoted the movie onto many new must-see list. And no matter the caliber of talent attached, it never hurts to have early positive word-of-mouth helping to promote a film.

Gravity opens in theaters on October 4, 2013.

The Plot:

Dr. Ryan Stone (Bullock) is a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (Clooney). But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone—tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.
