Brad Pitt takes on the lead role as Oakland A’s manager Billy Beane in Moneyball, based on the bestselling book by Michael Lewis. Bennett Miller directs the PG-13 drama heading to theaters on September 23, 2011.
The cast also includes Jonah Hill as Peter Brand, Philip Seymour Hoffman as Art Howe, Robin Wright as Sharon, Chris Pratt as Scott Hatteberg, and Stephen Bishop as David Justice. Reed Diamond plays Mark Shapiro, Brent Jennings is Ron Washington, Ken Medlock is Grady Fuson, Tammy Blanchard is Elizabeth Hatteberg, and Jack McGee plays John Poloni.
Synopsis: Brad Pitt stars as Billy Beane, the general manager of the Oakland Athletics and the guy who assembles the team, who has an epiphany: all of baseball’s conventional wisdom is wrong. Forced to reinvent his team on a tight budget, Beane will have to outsmart the richer clubs.
