Ben Affleck’s suspense thriller Argo which recreates the events surrounding a CIA ‘exfiltration’ expert’s attempts to rescue six Americans following the 1979 takeover of the U.S. Embassy in Iran was the big winner as voted by the San Diego Film Critics Society – which I am a member of. Argo beat out the competition to be named Best Film and Affleck Best Director. The film also won for Best Editing and Best Adapted Screenplay.
