Singer Gavin DeGraw is in stable condition after being taken to Bellevue Hospital following an attack in New York’s Lower East Side early Monday morning. The 34-year-old DeGraw suffered a broken nose, facial cuts, and black eyes as the result of the attack by unknown assailants.
DeGraw was alone at the time, however, the New York Post reports he had been out drinking with friends prior to being assaulted at the corner of 6th Street and 1st Avenue. After the beating, DeGraw kept walking and was then struck by a taxi, but not seriously injured.
DeGraw’s on tour with Maroon 5 and Train, and had to cancel a performance scheduled for August 8th in New York. It’s unclear when he’ll be able to perform again.
His next album, Sweeter, is due to be released on September 20, 2011.
