Mad Men star Jon Hamm has been tapped to receive the 2014 CinemaCon® Award of Excellence in Acting at the upcoming convention of National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO). Taking place March 24 through March 27 at Caesars Palace in Vegas, CinemaCon’s attendees include 5,000 motion picture professionals and each year the group chooses a dozen or so actors and filmmakers to receive awards. Hamm will pick his up during Walt Disney Studios’ presentation on March 26th at The Colosseum in Caesars Palace.

“Between his starring role in the dramatic hit series Mad Men and his on-screen performances in such films as The Town, Friends with Kids and Bridesmaids, Jon Hamm has become one of our most versatile actors today. We are thrilled to be debuting his upcoming movie Million Dollar Arm for the industry next week at CinemaCon in Las Vegas,” said Mitch Neuhauser, Managing Director of CinemaCon. “CinemaCon could not have picked a more talented actor to receive this year’s ‘Award of Excellence in Acting.’”

Disney’s set to release Million Dollar Arm starring Hamm in theaters on May 16, 2014. In the film, Hamm plays JB Bernstein “whose career as a sports agent rests with finding an exceptionally gifted young cricket pitcher in India, who can be trained for an American major league baseball team.” Million Dollar Arm was directed by Craig Gillespie and co-stars Aasif Mandvi, Suraj Sharma, Lake Bell, Madhur Mittal, Pitobash and Alan Arkin.
