Kylie Minogue will be tackling the job of judging talent on The Voice UK this upcoming season, joining returning coaches will.i.am and Sir Tom Jones on the panel when the show kicks off series three. Grammy winner Minogue has sold more than 68 million records and has had 50 hit singles, and her success in the music industry makes her a fine choice for mentoring upcoming talent.

Charlotte Moore, Controller of BBC One, believes the new line-up won’t disappoint fans of the singing competition. “To secure the princess of pop Kylie and announce the return of will.i.am and Sir Tom is a really great moment for the show, bring on The Voice Series three, back on BBC One in January 2014!” said Moore.

“I’m very excited to become a coach on The Voice UK,” said Minogue. “I love the concept of the show and have been an avid viewer of both series. The search for new talent is such an important aspect of the music industry and The Voice UK gives us all a part to play in that. Will I be competitive? Probably more than even I imagine!”

“Kylie is a hugely respected figure within the world of music and will be a fantastic addition to The Voice UK,” added Mark Linsey, Controller Entertainment Commissioning, BBC. “She is a true pop icon and her longevity in the industry is testament to her creative and musical ability.”

Sir Tom Jones welcomed the new addition while expressing how sad he is to see Jessie and Danny leave the show. And Minogue’s fellow coach will.i.am commented: “While I will miss Danny and Jessie, I’m excited to be returning for season three and to work with Kylie and Tom. Together we will mix it up and bring new energy and ideas to the show.”

BBC hopes to announce the final coach for series three soon.
