Nazanin Boniadi has been elevated from guest-star status to series regular on the fourth season of Homeland. Boniadi joined the cast in season three, playing a Muslim CIA analyst named Fara Sherazi. Although Saul (Mandy Patinkin) initially appeared skeptical and standoff-ish toward Sherazi (even though he recruited her), he ultimately came to trust in and depend on her analytical skills.

According to Showtime, season four will find Fara playing a key role in helping Carrie (Claire Danes).

Season four will shoot this summer and air this fall.

Nazanin Boniadi’s credits include Iron Man, The Next Three Days, 24, Grey’s Anatomy, How I Met Your Mother, and Scandal.

The Plot: Homeland tells the story of Carrie Mathison (Danes), a bi-polar CIA officer who plays by her own rules. At the end of last season Carrie, pregnant with the late Brody’s (Damian Lewis) baby, along with her mentor Saul Berenson (Patinkin), brought a significant and much-needed win for the agency and country at large.
