Fans of Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man may not ever see a fourth stand-alone Iron Man movie with Downey Jr in the lead, but according to various reports he will be reprising the role. Variety and The Hollywood Reporter are reporting Downey Jr is close to signing on to Captain America 3 starring Chris Evans. The reports also state Captain America 3 will include elements of the comic book event series, “Civil War.”
Captain America: The Winter Soldier directors Joe and Anthony Russo are returning to the franchise with Captain America 3 and Marvel’s set a May 6, 2016 release date for the superhero film.
