US Weekly’s reporting Simon Cowell’s ready to call an end to the Britney Spears experiment. According to the magazine, Cowell’s not exactly pleased with the current panel of X Factor judges and will not be asking Spears back for a second season. The news comes hot on the heels of the announcement that L.A. Reid would not be returning for a third season.
 
According to US Weekly’s unnamed source inside the show, Cowell “wanted crazy Britney, but he got boring Britney.”
 
The revolving door could also be hitting Demi Lovato in the butt as it appears Cowell’s ready to bring in three new judges for season #3. Season 2 wasn’t exactly a ratings bonanza for Fox, and the combo of Spears (and her $15 million contract) and Lovato didn’t bring in the viewership the network was banking on.
 
And in case you forgot, Season 1’s judging panel consisted of Cowell, Reid, Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger.
